VACANCY : DIRECTOR POSITION - SIPA BOARD

As required by the State-Owned Enterprises (SOE) Act 2007 and SOE Regulations 2010, the Solomon Islands Ports Authority trading as Solomon Ports hereby calls for applications from appropriately qualified candidates who wish to be part ofSolomon Islands Port Authority Board of Directors.


Solomon Islands Ports Authority, established in 1959 as a State-owned Enterprise in Solomon Islands with the objective to provide efficient Port Services to the Solomon Islands under the Ports Act. We are seeking candidates who have recent or / and relevant qualifications and experience in one or more of the following: -


-Experience in private enterprise and /or SOEs together with good understanding of legislation in the Solomon Islands.

-Candidate with recent experience at board and executive management with good financial and/or business expertise or
relevant industry.

-Demonstrate scope and depth of management and leadership experience, preferably in a senior leadership role in a large                                      
or recognized organization.

-Integrity, high ethical standards with a clean track record.

-Adequate time to dedicate to SIPA’s business as a Member of the Board.

-Demonstrated ability to think independently and work collaboratively.

-Make all decisions and take all actions based in the principles of reasonable prudence & acting in good faith in matters of
the board operation.

-Establishes policies for administering the services which are in harmony with the purpose of the organization.

-Ensure that the financial affairs of the organization are conducted on a responsible bases in accordance with established
policies and procedures.

-Strong experience in corporate strategic planning, organizational development, and its implementation at corporate level,
particularly in commercial environment.

-Performing duties as a director must exercise care, diligence & skills.
