Directors Position – SIPA BOARD
In accordance with the State-Owned Enterprises (SOE) Act 2007 and the SOE Regulations 2010, the Solomon Islands Ports Authority, operating as Solomon Ports, invites applications from suitably qualified individuals interested in joining the Board of Directors of the Solomon Islands Port Authority.
Established in 1956 as a State-owned Enterprise, the Solomon Islands Ports Authority aims to deliver efficient Port Services in the Solomon Islands under the Ports Act. We are looking for candidates who possess recent and/or relevant qualifications and experience in the following areas: -
- Experience in private enterprises and/or SOEs, along with a solid understanding of legislation in the Solomon Islands.
- Candidates with recent board and executive management experience, possess strong financial and/or business acumen or relevant industry knowledge.
- Proven management and leadership experience, ideally in a senior role within a large or well-regarded organization.
- A commitment to integrity and high ethical standards, with a clean professional record.
- Sufficient time to commit to SIPA’s business as a Board Member.
- Prepare for, attend, and conscientiously participate in board meetings.
- Must be equipped to identify, assess, and prepare for potential threats that could harm the organization’s financial standing, reputation, or operations.
- Responsible for upholding accountability, fairness, and transparency within the organization.
- To guide the company’s vision, support executive teams, and foster productive governance.
- Must perform their duties with care, diligence, and skill.
