SOLOMON PORTS JOINS SAFE GREEN GAMES CAMPAIGN

Solomon Ports has joined the launch of the Safe Green Games campaign on the 3rd of March 2023, in preparation for the upcoming 2023 Pacific Games in Honiara in November.

Ports staff joined other stakeholders and SOE's in a march and parade from SMI grounds to Lawson Tama stadium, spreading the message of keeping Honiara City clean and green for the games.

Later that day, Solomon Ports hosted a concert at the iconic Unity Square Landmark in Honiara, for the people of the capital city to get more insights in how they can take part in keeping Honiara clean.

Hundreds of Honiara residents turned to take part in the concert, where live band performances took place, and awareness talk sessions from the prime Minister's office and relevant government ministries.

On Saturday 4th of March, nearly a hundred Solomon Ports staff also took part in a major cleanup and garbage collection within Honiara's CBD. Ports staff were armed with gloves, garbage bags, and brooms, as they extensively cleaned the ports area and surrounding areas of the CBD.

Solomon Ports has regularly organized and participated in cleanup campaigns over the past years, which has resulted in the Honiara Port area being one of the cleanest zones in the capital city.

The Port urges all people of Solomon Islands and especially Honiara Citizens to take pride in their country and work together to make it cleaner and greener.
